Dr. Bhim Kafle
Kathmandu University, Nepal
Bhim P. Kafle studied MSc. in “Solar Energy” from Ben-Gurion University of Negev, Israel in 2004 where he investigated the effect of electrical current on diffusion process of dopant on thin solid films. He was awarded with PhD from Graduate University for Advanced Studies (GUAS), Japan in Physics in 2008. He then pursued his research as a postdoctoral fellow in the field of cluster size dependence of reaction dynamics (decay pathways of hot species) of metal and carbon cluster at Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. Currently, he is working as an ASSISTANT PROFESSOR at Dept. Chem. Science & Engineering, Kathmandu University (KU), Dhulikel, Nepal. He joined KU in 2011.
He was awarded with full scholarship for his MSc. studies in Ben-Gurion University, Israel. He was awarded with the Best Poster Presentation, in 4th Workshop on Electrostatic storage devices (ESD), Tennessee, USA (2011). He pursued research during his postdoctoral period with UNESCO/ISRAEL co-sponsored Fellowship (2009 – 2011)in Israel. He published more than 30 scientific articles including Material Science and fundamental physics (cluster physics). His current research interest on the devising nanomaterial based devices for solar energy harvesting. In particular Dr. Kafle is working on the direction of improving the stability perovskite solar cell. Also, actively working on selective coating based solar thermal collector.
Dr. Kafle is a life long member of Chemical Society of Nepal and was awarded with The World Academy of Science Award (TWAS) (Conferred on: 2012) by TWAS Foundation, Italy. Moreover, he has received grants for his research projects from national and international research grants such as UGC Nepal, and The World Academy of Science (TWAS) for developing Countries, Italy.
