Dr. Alfredo Iranzo

Research experience:

Alfredo Iranzo obtained a Chemical Engineering degree by Universidad de Zaragoza (2000), where he initiated his research career collaborating with LITEC/CSIC (Research Laboratory in Combustion Technologies). After working in Germany during five years at ANSYS Germany, he obtained a MSc. in Thermal Energy Systems by Universidad de Sevilla (2010), and a PhD degree by Universidad de Sevilla (2011), with a research work on PEM Fuel Cells modelling and experimental validation, receiving the “outstanding thesis award” by University of Sevilla. He was a research engineer at AICIA and currently work as a researcher at the University of Sevilla.


His research activity is focused on PEM Fuel Cells, where he has published more than 20 scientific publications in JCR journals. He has also published two book chapters on the same topic. 


He has co-directed three PhD theses in the field of Hydrogen Technologies (PEM Fuel Cells and solar reactors for hydrogen production), and he is member of the Editorial Board of “Engineering Applications of Computational Fluid Mechanics” (Taylor & Francis) and Assistant Subject Editor of “International Journal of Hydrogen Energy” (Elsevier).


Alfredo Iranzo is author of 30 research papers in JCR journals, with over 400 cites and an h-index = 13. He is a recognised reviewer in more than 10 JCR international peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has been included in the prestigious “Who´s who in Science and Engineering”, Ed. Marquis, in the 2012th and 2015/16th editions.
